360°-feedback and feedforward
Removal of blind spots through objective examination
360°-feedback and feedforward for director, manager or board
You want to avoid missing important signals. Or that you have not properly assessed the seriousness of the situation. That is why you have decided to collect information systematically, independently and objectively from various people in your environment. All relevant stakeholders are questioned, both within and outside your organization.
Collecting such information will result in the following:
-
independent and objective input for the periodic evaluation of your performance in consultation with your manager, director or supervisory board
-
in-depth insight into the effectiveness and characteristics of your functioning
-
concrete suggestions and recommendations for your development
In confidence and security
It goes without saying that this can be an exciting process. Therefore, get yourself some good advice and provide your informants with guidance. A careful process is of great importance to achieve the intended result. Questions such as "who is the client?" and "with whom and how do we communicate about this process?" are discussed. In addition, it is important that informants feel invited and trusted to share feedback and experiences.
Roadmap
The 360°-feedback process has the following steps:
-
Determining the purpose and structure of the process, including the question of who the client is.
-
Compile the list of informants.
-
Approach the informants to ask if they want to contribute.
-
Conduct structured interviews by an independent consultant.
-
Analyzing and reporting anonymized data.
-
Discussion of the results with the subject person.
-
Evaluation and advisory meeting between subject person and manager, director and/or Supervisory Board.
If desired, online instruments can also be used for parts of this process, whether or not to replace the interviews.
On average, such a 360°-feedback process has an average lead time of 4 to 8 weeks.
